Flatbush Shomrim gets daily calls from concerned family members about a “possible” missing loved one. Missing persons can involve children, dementia patients, a runaway or a special-needs individual. Most calls for a missing person are self-resolved.
Our highly trained Search & Rescue Team is comprised of seasoned professionals, directed by a credentialed team leader, with decades of experience. The team is always ready to mobilize at a moment’s notice.
On the rare occasion that our initial interview determines a person is indeed missing and potentially in danger, the SAR team is immediately activated. A whole series of in-place protocols are executed to ensure the rapid deployment of every needed resource.
Our 33-foot Mobile Command Center (MCC) is fully equipped and enables us to manage such an operation with ease. On board our MCC, we have 4 independent command stations to facilitate multitasking, state-of-the-art communications equipment, a high-capacity printer for rapid printing of color fliers and more.
During a boots-on-ground search, we maintain constant communication with all relevant agencies including neighboring Shomrim teams, Hatzalah and law enforcement.
Flatbush Shomrim has conducted myriad search operations over the years. We take great pride in our near-perfect “find” rate. Nothing hinders the dedication and tenacity of our SAR team when duty calls.

Flatbush Shomrim has set up a domestic emergency response team that is trained to d-escalate an active domestic emergency, With countless safety protocols in place for the victims as well as our members .
Our Domestic team responds to: Runaways, Spousal abuse, Suicidal, Physical altercations, Verbal alterations, Kids at Risk.
FSSP Domestic team prides itself on being discreet. FSSP Domestic team has several resources to pass on for additional help once the immediate danger is removed and the scene is safe .

24/7 Emergency Response
Our hotline fields over 6,000 calls annually, leading to approximately 300 NYPD arrests of crimes for assaults, burglary, car break in, package thieves, etc.

Day and night, our patrols monitor the streets, identifying and apprehending individuals responsible for criminal activity.

Flatbush Shomrim is always ready to respond during severe weather conditions. Our members assist with issues such as flooded basements and fallen trees blocking streets or entrances. We provide generators and light towers to address power outages. Our mobile command center (MCC) acts as a charging station for devices for those without power. Additionally, the MCC can illuminate large areas and offer temporary shelter and heat for individuals in need.
