Flatbush Shomrim Safety Patrol (FSSP) was founded 28 years ago to assist Flatbush community members in any way possible, to help combat crime in the Flatbush community and improve the quality of life of its inhabitants. Flatbush Shomrim is comprised of a team of well-trained volunteers dedicated to protecting their community and responding to incidents involving criminal activity, special category missing persons and domestic violence. Additionally, Flatbush Shomrim organizes programs for the youth of the Flatbush community such as bike registrations/carnivals and events geared towards children to bring awareness of criminal and terrorist threats. FSSP has established close relationships and is maintains unbreached communication with a wide variety of agencies and organizations such as the NYC Police Department, Hatzolah, Office of Emergency Management, COJO, District Attorney’s Office, FEMA, Social Services, as well as many other community-based charitable organizations.
